Jacob & Co. Oil Pumps
After more than a year of development, Jacob & Co., for the first time in the watchmaking industry, has integrated two working derricks, an "oil" container and a piping system into a single timepiece, powered by a hand-wound biaxially driven tourbillon in its heart.
The tourbillon cage pump makes a full revolution on its first axis in 60 seconds and on its second axis in 2.5 minutes. The rose gold oil-pump automatic is available on demand and activated by a pusher at two o'clock.
All of this is housed in a very hard-wearing 47mm 18K rose gold and sapphire crystal case with a solid 18K rose gold case back. Keeping the design simple, there is no set crown, but winding and time setting are done using two bows built into the case back.
Everything is on display in the oil pump thanks to the unique domed sapphire with double anti-reflective treatment. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters.
