Isaac Asimov's Claim to "Psychohistory" by /OldSigma/

In scientific communities it is customary to grant recognition on the basis of priority of publication. By this criterion it would seem that Isaac Asimov has a secure claim to the term "psychohistory." "Foundation," the first story in the series about the Empire and Hari Seldon's concept of prediction appeared in the May 1942 issue of /Astounding/. Lloyd deMause celebrated his 11th birthday the following September.

Granted that Asimov's concept made its debut in a work of fiction, it seems narrow of the scientific community around Mr. deMause to ignore the clear priority of Mr. Asimov to the term "psychohistory."

But ultimately this question will be resolved over time as one or the other of these human activities survives and the other fades out of existence.
