I don't know how many of you have read about Nikolai Kondratieff’s approach to predicting technological advances using what are now referred to as Kondratieff waves. Perhaps someone more qualified in this than I can explain what the relevance of such a science could be in the construct of psychohistory. Here is a link to start with:

faculty.washington.edu . . .

I am also somewhat enthusiastic about the system of systems approach, especially the construction of systems which are inclined to form stable self organizing patterns. I think that Per Bak’s research on the physics of self organizing sand piles may have relevance and utility in the system of systems approach which is becoming increasingly popular for organizational behaviour analysis and system analysis. For more info on Per Bak, see:

en.wikipedia.org . . .

A third area which is of interest to me is Homeokinetics. Homeokinetics is the science of complex systems. The science has probably waned since its founder Iberall’s death, but the material he authored is present on the web at this link:

www.trincoll.edu . . .

What do you all think about these techniques? Please comment and if you have any ideas related to these concepts, please share.

Cheers
Fulcrum
